This is an artistic jewellry piece crafted from Tahitian black mother-of-pearl. Each piece is meticulously hand-cut and hand-carved by local Tahitian artisans into the symbolic shape of a whale tail. No two whale tails or engraved patterns are ever identical — each is entirely handcrafted and individually created. In Polynesian culture, the whale tail symbolizes protection, happiness, courage, and well-being.
The material used is Tahitian black mother-of-pearl — the very shell that nurtures the precious Tahitian black pearl. After completing its natural life cycle of producing pearls, these shells are respectfully transformed by local artisans using traditional craftsmanship, giving new life and artistic expression to each unique jewelry piece.
